2013-05-04The 8th Annual Cougar Literacy Run directly supports the literacy development of students in Cougar Elementary and Manassas Park Elementary School. With over 100 participants in 2012, this year's race is sure to be a hit in our community once again. Registration includes race bag (available on race day) with a limited edition Cougar Literacy Run tee shirt, coupons, discounts, and refreshments after the race. 2013-05-05Help the Hungry 5k is a fun community 5k (3.1 mile) race taking place on May 5, 2013. This race is organized by two current B-CC freshmen, Abigail Levine and Marie Caspard both varsity runners on B-CC's cross country team. Proceeds from this event will go to Bread for the City, a non-profit food bank that provides a variety of legal and social services for those in need in our area. -

2013-06-01This is a signature event with live music on the course and much more! Start along side redeveloping Springfield Mall. The 5K is a 'main street' course down and back Commerce Street in the heart of the commercial district. The 15K starts on Commerce Street, then drops into the park system for miles of trails, lake views, and wooded roads. Popping out of the park, runners traverse the Crestwood and Lynbrook neighborhoods before returning to the track finish at Lee High School. -

2013-06-02The 2nd Annual Shark Bite 300 Benefit Triathlon Event is a chip-timed event hosted by the Dominion Valley Sharks Swim Team and will benefit The American Cancer Society and The Autism Society of Northern Virginia. All age groups are welcome to participate! -
2013-06-02Start training for the June 2 races. Both races will take you through historic downtown Herndon during Herndon Festival weekend. Both the 10k and 5k courses are USATF certified. Awards are presended to the top two finishers from each age group from the 10 & under, to 70 & over. Refreshments for runners will be provided at the conclusion of the race. -

However, youth must be able to swim 25 yards and have a valid USAT Membership card. -

2013-06-05Join non-profit, Rock Recovery, for Grub for Good, a 5k fun run that aims to involve the running community in supporting those struggling with body image issues and fighting the stigma that surrounds eating disorders. Run begins at Potomac River Running in Arlington, and will be followed by a happy hour at a local Arlington restaurant. All proceeds from this race benefit Rock Recovery. At the end of camp the cheerleaders will perform a special routine for parents. Each day after lunch the campers will go swimming at the community center pool. -

2013-07-08Our swim lessons program is designed to help swimmers at every level experience more success and less frustration with learning the fundamentals of swimming. All of our classes are taught by certified swim instructors. Below are level descriptions for our program. All lessons will be held at the Manassas Park Community Center. School Age Level 4: Swim Efficiently Must be proficient in Level 3 exit skills. Tread Water. Front Crawl and Backstroke Open Turns. Skulling and Sidestroke. Classes are Mondays-Thursdays.
